St. Joseph’s Pantry Where Social Justice and Stewardship Combine

“Solidarity is first and foremost a sense of responsibility on the part of everyone with regard to everyone,
and it cannot therefore be merely delegated to the State.” Pope Benedict XVI in Caritas in Veritate, 38. The volunteers and those who donate at St. Joseph’s Pantry fulfill a vital ministry of feeding the hungry in our community, and this fulfills both our social justice and stewardship responsibilities as well. First it fulfills our personal responsibility to social justice by allowing us to personally help the less fortunate in our community by helping feed them. It is also our responsibility in stewardship as well, and both those who volunteer their time and talents as well as those who donate food, or money, to the pantry fulfills their stewardship. In one action both social justice and stewardship is fulfilled by us and shows the true unity of Catholic Teaching within this holy ministry. Social Justice and Stewardship is something we don’t delegate to others, but take personal responsibility within our lives and within our communities. This is truly pro-life-changing work. We would like to thank everyone who volunteers at our pantry, and those who donate to our pantry. You truly are the image of Christ in our community and an inspiration to us all. May Christ pour His abundant grace in your lives, and continue to bless those around you by your presence.

God Bless.
