Daily Principles of a Good Steward of God

posted Sep 8, 2011, 8:10 AM by St. Joseph Cheyenne
1. Ask for God‘s Grace to help you to spend the day doing His will.
2. Seek the best means of doing God‘s will during the day. Seek to serve others, and not to be served by others. Accepting everything and everyone as a gift from God in your life.
3. Praise and thank God in all you experience during the day. (Not just the good experience, but also the bad experiences. Bad experiences help purify you like gold in a fire, and they can be offered up in union with Christ on the cross for grace. Grace offered up for others like Christ on
the cross.)
4. Entrust your concerns into God‘s hands to God‘s love for you.

A Stewardship Prayer
Lord God, As we prepare for the transitions in our life; of routines becoming regular, schools beginning to start, and traffic is getting heavier, help us to appreciate the sacred rhythms in our lives. Give us the wisdom to make our hearts be still, so that we may listen to the gentle words you speak to us. Help us understand that you alone are the source of every good gift, of the vast array of our universe, and the mystery of each human life. And help us see that we are called to be good stewards of all that you have entrusted to us; tending them faithfully and responsibly so they may ultimately be returned to you with increase. While a measure of summer‘s stillness remains, speak to our hearts, guide us in your Son‘s ways, and through your Spirit, give us the strength to proclaim your love and peace in our everyday words and deeds. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
